Lights On After School
Posted 10/10/20

Burbank YEP Families,

Join more than 8,000 communities and 1 million Americans in celebrating afterschool programs for this year's Lights On Afterschool! This nationwide event, organized by the Afterschool Alliance, calls attention to the importance of afterschool programs and the resources required to keep the lights on and the doors open. The Hayward Unified School District’s Youth Enrichment Program is proud to be a Lights On Afterschool partner.

Too many American children—19.4 million—are missing out on afterschool opportunities. Participate in Lights On Afterschool and help call attention to this vital issue.

While we are physically away, we encourage everyone to participate in the Lights On Afterschool Lightbulb Challenge. Every year, we challenge friends of afterschool across the country to take a photo of themselves, mimicking the Lights On Afterschool logo and posting it on social media with the hashtags #LightbulbChallenge, #LightsOnAfterschool, and #BurbankYEP. Then, participants challenge their followers to do the same!

We would also like to hear from our families how Burbank YEP has made a difference in your lives. Please share those stories on social media with the hashtags #BurbankYEP, #YEPConnected, and #MadeinHayward.

Thank you for the continued support of Burbank YEP
